课程内容和教材:
这门课旨在提高学生的语言和阅读技巧The aim of the class is to improve students’ verbal and reading skills for the purpose of SSAT exam preparation in October or November 2022. Focusing on teaching list of words for SSAT exam, explaining the analogies between words, practicing reading comprehensives as well as teaching techniques of how to answer reading questions in SSAT exam. Practices and mock exam will be assigned as homework on weekly basis.

Depends on student’s math level, if it is a simple review, usually takes about 7 weeks studies to review all topics. Take about 4-8 weeks practices using mock exams.
For students that are very good at math, we will bump up to UTS entrance exam level and use Math League and UofW CEMC contest level material in teaching and practices.

Essay writing:
At the beginning of each SSAT testing session, you must write a 25-minutes essay on a given topic. You will have a choice of two topics, a creative writing topic and an essay-type topic. This essay is not scored. It is duplicated and sent to each school as a sample of your ability to express yourself in writing under the same conditions as all other candidates for admission to the school.
Essay writing training will follow the textbook “Writing – Learn to write better academic essays. - by Els Van Geyte”.
During lectures, you will learn and apply different writing techniques and your teacher will edit your writing and provide you with feedback so that your may improve your writing abilities.

Contests Preparation:
University of Waterloo mathematics and computing contests inspire students in Grades 6 to 12 to get excited about math and computer science and stretch their limits. We work hard to help students to understand and get interested in the magic of math and computer sciences. In addition, we help students to obtain good grades and results in the contests.
